I had an Iranian buddy when I was in my late teens whose dad would let us drink in the basement. If we promised not to go anywhere he would make us food and check in on us from time to time.
His favorite thing to do was wait till we had a little buzz on and bring down a handful of dice and an ornate cup. He would shake the cup, reveal 5-8 dice for just a second, cover up and shake again, repeat. He kept a running total in his head and the kids tried to get as close to the total as we could. We thought he was full of shit because OUR numbers were so far off from his, so we recorded him doing it and he was bang on.
