What is DRL. I love a good time sink
It was previously called "doom: the rogue like", but the creator copped a C&D. Relative props to ID - all they wanted was for the game not to have "doom" in the title. It's a surprisingly deep roguelike based on Doom. It lifts straight from old school doom including the difficulty names - so I'm Too Young to Die, Hey Not Too Rough, Hurt Me Plenty, Nightmare etc. I have just recently got to the point of semi regularly clearing Spider Mastermind on Hard (Hurt Me Plenty) but I haven't killed the optional boss for a full clear yet:) it has a lot of depth, and is properly difficult on UltraViolent and Nightmare but is also very approachable on ITYTD. It also uses the Doom soundtrack and it sounds like the Doom SFX, has an exceptionally sick tileset, and perhaps most importantly has a really modern UI using the mouse. The download page is here.
