They've been asked about this and when asked up-front they'll say of course ray-traced lighting isn't objectively better because not all games need to look realistic and so forth. But every single video where people rammed ray-traced lighting into old games belies that and shows how they're a part of the "more tech: better" cult.

On one hand, Nvidia is known to restrict access to things if they aren't talked about on their strict terms. On the other hand, DF is independent now and they can probably swing it with no insider access to their bullshit.
