Of all fandoms, Firefly fans were exactly the type to take out a full-page ad in a major newspaper (hmm, remember those?) in a bid to keep the show on the air.
I know, I was one back in the day and I remember the campaigns. Doesn't really change my feelings about TV show advertising now. There's a big difference between fans begging for a show to come back and fans being told to beg for a new show to be funded.
