I was only on Facebook because i had it from almost the beginning.
It's interesting that it generated the feeling that it is important and closing account you will lose something very valuable.
You have that feeling until you actually pull the trigger and them you realize that you never needed it. It is all addiction, Facebook just sends content that is triggering you. The greens that you worry that you might lose contact with it, majority you never talk with, the others there's so many other ways to connect with.
Facebook is just cancer.
Well... When I first quit, I stopped getting invited to stuff / knowing what events my social circle was organizing and that was frustrating and I was loosing something valuable.
But since I was an early quitter, things have gotten much better as over the last few years most of the rest of my social circle has followed me off.
In my case this wasn't an issue. While in the past events were used, no one have used them in years in my circle so I even forgot about them.
I have a little red notebook that has everybody I care about's phone numbers and addresses and email addresses in it in the drawer in my kitchen. If you aren't important enough for me to go get the little red notebook from the kitchen, then I probably also don't care if I can contact you ever.
Hey friend, I know the address of your red pineapple off by heart. Don't worry, I won't doxx you, of course.
Did you download all your data before leaving?
I did. That's another thing they try to make difficult.
Your can't just download it, you have to schedule it, and when it is ready you have relatively short time to grab it, otherwise you have to request it again.
