Vacation permission? That's just vacation notification, I'm not going to be there.
had.something similar happening to me (mind you vacation days are mandatory in my coutry) and when my boss said "this date is not.good for the team" I just said "oh that's too bad, guess I won't get paid this month then" He got the message.
