Can you recommend me a place to print Magic the Gathering cards? (lemmy.ml)

I'm getting back into MtG - Really I never left, but all my friends who played have moved + I lost all my good decks in a move myself. Now some of my other friends have started playing, and though I hate universes beyond, I enjoy the game.

I don't want to spend a bajillion on cards however, but I also don't want to play with paper cutouts or proxies. It's silly, but I like the cardboard for some reason. And I'd really like to regain some of my old decks, which were from Return to Ravnica/Original Innistraad era.

So I'm looking for a good printshop that prints good-looking Magic cards. I hear some shops in China have gotten better than WOTC at printing.
I'm in the EU.

Anyway, I'd love to get some recommendations. Please help me out.

Wow that's a great writeup! Sadly I must've miscommunicated, because I didn't mean I wanted to print/cut the cards myself, rather I wanted to order them from an online printer - Of which there are quite a few. I just don't have any experience with any one of them, so I don't know what to expect price-wise and so on. Stores like this one https://blacklotus.aliexpress.com/store/1101109646 for example. I know there are also some that are based in Germany.

Thanks for the link though, it is interesting to have a look at. Do you know ones in Germany are already printing cards like that Chinese place you linked or are you talking about general online print stores that are based in germany?

The reason I ask as if they already do a lot of cards (like the Chinese one obviously does) they will already have a lot of the requires equipment like dies available and in use, if however they are just a generic online print store like say redbubble sort of thing then they may add drastic extra costs to cover additional tooling where they don't already have it, so I would definitely suggest leaning towards companies that already deal in printing cards like that link.

Either way sorry I can't give you an idea of costs or more help.

I foiled these pokemon card things last year at work for a Christmas limited edition and the foiling process alone cost them around €500 for around 250 sheets which is why I suggest you go with someone that already has the tooling required.

Good luck, I'd be interested to see the results once you do get something done!

I found one similar shop located in Germany a few years ago, but I haven't been able to dig it up since. I'll send you an update if I end up getting any proxies printed! And thanks for the very kind interaction penguin-love
