Was it featured in the movie? I don't remember, but I do remember it played in the trailer, but formulaic trailers have long done a shitty remixes of classic songs. Didn't the movie famously not have a soundtrack?

There's no opera or ballet in the movie, there's just a lot of fake outrage because Timothee Chalamet said "I don't want to be working in ballet, or opera, or things where it's like, 'Hey, keep this thing alive, even though like no one cares about this anymore."

not to mention his immediate family were all in ballet and he originally wanted to go that route as a child.

the fake outrage about his contextless statement during a multi hour interview in the midst of a massive, long publicity campaign is completely manufactured and the commentariat is going hog wild about it. like any of them actually know shit about fuck or will care in 96 hours. i saw one comment saying "i have never seen anything he is in and now i won't!" basically bragging they haven't watched any of the dozen movies hes been in to critical acclaim in the last several years. the kid is fucking good and he's been goddam everywhere. anyone who isn't a fan already simply isn't into english language movies.

tim's whole point was a comparison to audience inattention, that he had concerns about cinema and the struggles and tensions to keep it relevant and popular, worrying that it might become like ballet, an art form he has had a tremendous amount of exposure to through immediate family. frankly, he's got a point. last time i sat through a 3 hour movie, i came away pissed at the medium and incurious at the message.

but you get headlines like he's saying art is over and ballet blows.

also, hes a kid. if you recorded everything i said in a 2 hour open interview in my 20s about the state of things, i would have been dropping radioactive takes left and right.

operacels not ready for this truke

Forever Young is in Marty Supreme. Basically the final scene, iirc.
