I wanted to use AI to read parking regulations and tell you where you could park for how long. I was going to license the technology to Garmin for their GPS devices. This was around 2004.

I was telling this story to someone over lunch yesterday. They said it was a great idea, and they'd still like to see it implemented. They had stood outside the place trying to puzzle through the conflicting parking signs outside.
