A Texas GOP candidate has drawn scrutiny after video surfaced of him happily boasting about having a copy of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

(eds. note: glad you specified which Mein Kampf)

Brandon Herrera is the GOP nominee for Texas’ 23rd congressional district after incumbent Tony Gonzales dropped out of his reelection bid following a sex scandal over which MAGA lawmakers called for his resignation. A subsequent ethics investigation ensued after reports surfaced that he had an affair with someone on his staff who later died by suicide.

Meanwhile, Herrera has become the district’s de facto GOP nominee in the wake of departure of Gonzales — who in 2024 called Herrera a “known neo-Nazi” — from the race. (Herrera denied the accusation, saying on X at the time, “This should be obvious, but I am not, nor have I never been a neo-Nazi.”) The firearms manufacturer and YouTuber, who’s known on the internet at “The AK Guy,” went viral on Friday after a video surfaced where he is seen boasting about his copy of Mein Kampf.

Boasting is indeed worrisome, but consider that when my ex and I moved in together, we now had the problem of two copies of Mein Kampf.

We'd both picked up the same translation in adolescence because it was a historical work that offered insights into what passed for Hitler's thought process.

I'm not saying that's the case for Herrera by any means, but simply owning a copy does not make one a Nazi.

Can attest. Christian roommate gave me a bible (no, really. I'm not joking.). He hoped it'd "save" me. This was more than two decades ago and he believed the earth was 5000 years old. A really intelligent guy actually thought this!

I don't believe Jesus was a historical figure. Checkmate Libs, I can't possibly be a nazi. /sarcasm

(To be fair, Libs (the ones that are elected, not necessarily the voters) can fuck off because they're center-right and completely worthless at stopping the far-right. Sorry, the right. There's no far-right at this point. It's just who they are now. Fascism in the USA happened way before I predicted. Form a third party, lib voters. Dems won't save us.)

Jesus wasn't a real person. And nazis can fuck off. Here are two of my favorite things to repost (it's convenient that I get two in one!):

Worth noting, Patriot Front had a huge leak of data in 2022 (400GB).

Patriot Front Fascist Leak Exposes Nationwide Racist Campaigns

You can download it at the following torrent address (multiple gigabytes):

I'm seeding this on a permanent basis. I have gigabit uplink. Please leach and share. Expose these nazi fucks.

Then this:

Jesus is an ahistorical figure who was originally crucified in the firmament above the earth. Notice no mention of an earthly ministry in the Pailine epistles; Paul is arguing for salvation from a heavenly figure. In his letters, Jesus is still to be revealed, rather than returning. Only decades later did the stories about a human man get written.

The Didache was most likely part of the letter written by the "pillars in Jerusalem" (James the Just, Peter, and John) after their meeting with Paul. This was the meeting to discuss the matter of preaching to gentiles and whether circumcision ought to be required for christian converts. It contains many of the tenets later ascribed to Jesus, but doesn't associate him with teaching them.

The reason the earthly story was embraced by the church was to stop people like Paul from having visions of Christ that the church couldn’t control. By pointing to a real guy on earth, they could control the message. Otherwise, any yokel on the street could teach that Jesus revealed new teachings and the church risked being undermined.

Marcion was probably the first to create a collection of writings associated with christianity: he collected some of Paul's letters and had his own gospel. It was thought that he had a shortened version of Luke (as testified by Eusebius and Tertullian). Marcion, however, claimed that his gospel had been "judaized"; this suggests that his shorter version was the original gospel before others modified it.

Acts was written as a direct response to Marcion’s scripture. It was written to harmonize Paul’s high-jacking of the religion by making he and Peter appear to be in alignment when actually he was at odds with the leaders in Jerusalem. See the story about Simon (not the apostle). He was a competing religious leader with followers who was written about for centuries (and the source of the word Simony).

The Jerusalem pillars (James, Peter, John), were strict adherents of Judaism, whereas Paul taught that Jesus made the Law / Torah unnecessary. They were almost certainly Essenes, one of the three flavors of Judaism at the time (the other two were the Pharisees and Sadducees mentioned in the new testament). John the Baptist was clearly also an Essene. He's said to wear camel's hair with a leather belt around his waist and ate locusts and honey. His practice of baptism also aligns with daily ritual water immersion, which is presently believed to be a core practice of the Essenes.

This is a very long way of saying that Jesus first appeared in visions and spoke to the early leaders without walking on earth. It's a fringe belief about which I was quite skeptical, but damn if the evidence doesn't line up. See Robert Price, Earl Doherty, and Elbe Spurling for more info. Elbe's online book is free and contains a huge amount of historical information about the region at the time (more history and context than any religious book I'd seen before; awesome because I'm a history nerd).

====

Copy / pasta end. There's no jesus, but there are nazis. FUCK NAZIS. Hit them in the face. Christians who keep their faith to themselves, you're cool. The one's who try to take over politics and mandate rules / laws for others (christo-nationalists) need to be punched and kicked in the dick. Fuck them in the ear and tell them they aren't welcome.
