Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed.

Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That explosion may have caused hundreds of dollars worth of damage.
The damage to the reputation, the prestige, and the gold-plated hubris of "the greatest nation on Earth ever and for all time" is what's at stake.
Fortunately, disaster capitalism will generate at least fourteen jobs, resulting in the fortification of this embassy — and all other embassies — at exorbitant cost. The US defense budget will far exceed the $1.5T requested for 2027.
Screw diplomacy, forget peace, pursue power.
At all costs. Until Empire falls.
Yeah, really hate the cruelty of my country.
For half the cost we could be dropping food, clothing, water, and medicine on the people we're bombing and it would do much more to further the cause of peace.

If you honestly think that, you need to maybe read a bit more or work on your short-term memory, because you have no idea what you're talking about. Hell, the last assassination attempt was just a few weeks ago.
Weird. Not to boast, but my Human Benchmark scores for verbal memory surpass the 250pts mark putting me in the >99.9%ile. Yet I do not recall anything. With all the mnemonics and shorthands that I use to structure my thinking I should remember this stuff, ya see. The assassination attempt must've been so weak that it only barely moved the barometer. If at all.
Funny how people still believe libidnal revenge fantasies go anywhere. Some things never change in certain societies. Whatshisface set themself alight 2024? Or was it whatretheirfaces? And was that really 2024? Could have been 2025 as well. So much for doing things. I guess the geopolitically safer areas of the world, Uruguay, NZ, Norway, etc., will have to watch America helplessly decay into a demented slush of Big Gulps, Florida cosmeticians, and prison laborers, the final form of which being something akin to previously propagated delusions about El Salvador and Mexico.
But this is just a stupid non-American weighing in. Who am I to say anything to the morally superior unions and bike shops, the YIMBY dads and NIMBY eco-moms, of the nation of Columbia. It is after all their rightful blood trade on top of the lesser lands that keeps the Keep Austin Weird Murals from dulling and the anti capitalist small business terrorist able to sell their anti-capitalist icecreams.
To be honest, I think the USA's reputation around the world is already so poor right now that this doesn't make much difference.
Inside the USA, this isn't exactly high profile news (at least not at the moment) and I bet most people who are aware it happened would see this as a Norway thing rather than a US thing, and therefore would consider it more of a knock against that country than our own.
Not saying that is MY view, just that it would be a common take here on the inside if this actually were to become high profile news (which it doesn't seem like it is at the moment).
Yeah like... What the hell did we build our embassy out of that a great big explosion outside merely cracked some glass in the doors‽
