The Trump administration is confronting mounting discontent from allies in the Persian Gulf who have complained they were not given adequate time to prepare for the torrent of Iranian drones and missiles bombarding their countries in retaliation for strikes launched by the U.S. and Israel.

Officials from two Gulf countries said their governments were disappointed in the way the U.S. has handled the war, particularly the initial attack on Iran last Saturday. They said their countries were not given advance notice of the U.S.-Israeli attack and complained the U.S. had ignored their warnings that the war would have devastating consequences for the entire region.

We're gonna lose military bases over this, and likely never get them back

Bibi wants to go back to being our only option over there, and he's clearly willing to make everyone else hate America to accomplish that.

Because Bibi wants to wipe them all out, and he can't do that why they host US bases

Who's "we"? USA? In that case that's good, you don't need military bases all over the world.

They clearly mean the USA and if you read slightly further they also cover at least one reason the US losing bases is bad for people besides the US:

Because Bibi wants to wipe them all out, and he can't do that why they host US bases

I'm not trying to say the US should have bases by the way, your comment just seems to be shooting from the hip and filled with emotion enough that you're not reading

Why are you so willing to give a free pass to the United States? We were never on the right side without there being economic plunder for the already wealthy.

[–] porcoesphino@mander.xyz 5 points 19 hours ago

By "free pass" do you mean "only point out issues with Bibi"? I personally wouldn't call that a free pass but if that is what you mean, I get your comment, if it isn't then I probably need it explained to me

The US doesn't need any help on that front.

The countries that were giving trump planes a year ago are now "rethinking their investments in regards to America".

I guarantee without Bibi those countries would still have a positive view of trump

Rationale companies already hated him, this is making far right authoritarian dictators hate him too.

Leaving Israel as our only ally in the region in an attempt to guarantee support even after trump leaves office.

We see a lot of hand-wringing from Democrats, it'll at least be interesting to see if every government in the world is equally impotent in the face of catastrophe

They typically are. If there were more politicians with spines, we wouldn't be in any of these situations, and yes, I do mean any of them. And as we all know, there's a LOT.
