It's not just online gambling.
I live in PA and every gas station and vape shop have "skill games" now. 15 years ago association with these things sunk a few local politicians, now they're at every corner. And maybe I shouldn't judge a book by the cover, but the people I see playing them don't look all that up on their luck. I don't keep a strong routine but I still see the same faces at the gas station at these machines.
And because of PA laws, gas stations that serve alcohol must have a place on site you can consume. So it's like there's mini casinos every 5 miles across the state now.
This sounds like a scene right out of Infinite Jest and I did not like that book.
