So far I've heard official statements saying "The goal of this is to bring about Armageddon so that Jesus can return," and "there won't be any stupid rules of engagement." Both from SecDef.

Meanwhile the official white house statement is that "the full scope and duration of military operations" is unknown.

This is literally an act of world sabotage by the doomsday cult in charge of the world's most powerful military...

I'm gonna be sick...

Every American household has a gun, but not a single spine in sight.

Go do something pussy Americans.

You don't understand very much if you think any singular individual with a gun can simply "do something" about the military-industrial complex and militarized police force.

Lone wolf attacks don't accomplish shit but bad PR. Actuality doing something effective would take a level of organization and coordination that doesn't exist and may even be impossible due to the surveillance state and even just the fractured state of american society.

Even a well-ordered movement wouldn't have the firepower to match what they're up against. Virtually limitless federal budget, armored vehicles, a monopoly on everything bigger than a rifle, thousands of centrally-organized personnel.

What's the point of having guns then?

Americans should give up their guns, at least less children will be sacrificed to Baal

You'll have to take that question up with the gun nuts who are actively supporting fascism. I can't speak on their behalf...

You haven't heard of guerilla war? It has worked elsewhere. In fact, it has worked against the US.

I really would prefer it doesn't come to that. However, the midterms will tell the world if that's the only option.

I'm sure the average keyboard warrior will be able to engage in those tactics effectively if it comes to that. And I'm sure that wouldn't just result in even worse devastation on a far greater scale.

Regardless, at least we seem to agree that we should wait and see how midterms play out before taking any drastic measures...

Keyboard warrior who went to Ukraine seems to be holding the line.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by that? Are you suggesting that the above commenter, or someone else online, signed up for the Ukrainian Foreign Legion and has been honorably serving to repel the russian invasion?

Cause if so, good on them. But that doesn't exactly change the dynamic in the US. Ukrainian forces are centrally organized, with material support and intelligence sharing from a coalition of western allies. They have military-grade hardware, even though the US has been trying to reduce their supply. The reduction of which has been shown to have resulted in tactical and strategic setbacks.

There's no chance of the same situation applying in the US, where there would also be no clear frontline but rather a protracted insurgency, rather than conventional warfare between two sovereign state actors.
