Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Sounds like a draft is being planned for the occupation of Iran, aka Vietnam v.4

this isn't backed by anything and is an entirely made up scenario.

It is backed by the fact that if MAGA sees an opportunity, it will exploit that opportunity to the fullest extent. They have no sense of moderation.

So if they see a chance to weaponize a draft, and use it to manage those they see as potential enemies, they will absolutely do it.

We know this about MAGA, and they have proved it countless times. The US government is now the same as MAGA. It is the MAGA Government, and they will behave like we've seen MAGA behave for the last decade.

Yeah it's possible, but I don't see the point in making up scenarios when they are doing more than enough now. There's a couple thousand laws they could figure out a way to weaponize, doesn't mean they will and doesn't suddenly make those laws "MAGA law".

Equating all federal law to "MAGA law" is incredibly reactionary.

Also you've slightly changed your position on what you mean by "MAGA Law" each time you've replied. To me it reeks of the over-reactionary rhetoric the conservatives use. I don't need boogeymen and hyperbole when we have more than enough real problems to deal with. Real problems stemming from Trump and MAGA of course

I'm not "making up scenarios," I'm trying to stay a few steps ahead of these morons, so we can prepare for whatever nonsense they'll try to pull. That requires extrapolating the most likely scenarios, based on what we already know about them.

I have a draft age son, and there is no way that he's going off to die in a Trump War "Deal." I've been predicting a major Trump War, and a Draft, since 2016, and the War part is finally here. The draft part will be announced in January 2027.

I'm not going to wait until it happens and react, I'm going to start propagandizing against it right now. I want voters in November to not just vote against what he's done, and what he's doing, I want them to be thinking about what's around the corner, like sending their children to die so Trump can bury the Epstein Files.

Get with the program, Citizen.

It's the same picture

I have a draft age son

I am still draft age, scares the shit out of me this war will get worse and the draft is coming. I'm not going either. I don't even think suspecting a draft is unlikely. It's just the added bits and hyperbole of your arguement I didn't like.

My advice to avoid it short term is if your son is college age send him abroad for college. I am doing a graduate degree myself waiting to see if I'll be able to claim asylum. Added benefit it's so much cheaper abroad tuition wise. I did the math the total program costt (rent, tuition, insurance, etc) will cost me less than 1 semesters tuition in the US

The draft part will be announced in January 2027.

Source or more speculation?

I'm not opposed to being predictive of the administration, but I'm not going to get online and pretend to know with certainty when they will do something.
