What do y'all expect him to say? He's the fucking mayor, he isn't gonna say "do it more" or "next time use a brick", he doesn't call the nypd cowards or whatever
This statement doesn't condemn the snowball throwers at all, he doesn't claim that it was a violent attack or condemn violence on police officers. He just says "treat them with respect" which is the bare minimum he probably had to do to get the immensely powerful police unions off his back
