Gotta be real chief, I'm gonna oppose the crowd here and ask it: What's the big deal here?
Like, its definitely not a good look, but is this really significant enough to devote any mental energy to?
Just garden variety corruption: partying after flying over on a taxpayer-funded private plane.
Kinda like seeing ICE Barbie flying around and doing cosplay and weird videos on horses and later hearing about her 70 million dollar bang plane.
This kind of waste, fraud and abuse won't make much of a dent in the budget and won't really change the everyday experience for most Americans, but.....still. It's infuriating to watch. It's almost like they are rubbing our noses in it.
That's kinda what I'm trying to get at. Like yeah, it sucks to see, but between being worried about this v.s. an additional 10% tariff globally, one of those will impact my life much more substantially.
All these things need to be talked about. Fraud and possible illegal use of funds can’t be ignored because there is a more significant problem.
People need to know all this stuff, it will help turn some of their supporters away and if there ever is a miracle, there might be some accountability in future administrations.
Yes, it is. If he hadn't already established a pattern of behavior beforehand then maybe you could just see this as boys being boys.
However with the established pattern? There's simply no way to paint this as anything other than him doing what he's done since being appointed: fuck around on the taxpayers dime.
Well, when people are having their health care ripped away, after Donvict had lots of other government employees lose their jobs for no reason and people are having an affordability crisis, as Donvict's illegal tariffs cost them an additional $1000 last year, seeing this little troll flying off to Italy and doing this is a real optics problem.
Sure, does this in particular really change anyone's life? No.
It's exhausting how much people cling to this type of shit when there are much bigger issues people should stay focused on. Hell there was probably even a similar instance with a n Obama or Biden stooge but like you said it's not worth the effort even to look.
The right had separate week long meltdowns over Obama early arugula and Dijon mustard. Never mind the tan suit. Something like this would have their top story for months.
Every day, these assholes get away with shit that would have caused resignations in any previous administration. Is this the worst thing they're doing? No, not by a long shot. But that doesn't make it ok.
Yeah, how is this "drawing outrage" from folks? I can see it as a dumbass using his position's power to force his way inside an event, but the article didn't seem to indicate that was the reason for the outrage. Do they care that it was 'wasting taxpayer money' on a business trip that clearly wasn't?
