The Enterprise (and Nurse Christine Chapel (Majel Barret)) are in search of Dr. Roger Korby (Michael Strong), a famous scientist that hasn't been heard from in over five years. When they do find him he is cloistered underground with a strange group of people and ancient technology. Instead of agreeing to return to the ship, he forces Captain Kirk to remain on the planet and insists that he hear him out because the discoveries he has made will change everything.

Odd episode, but it had its moments.

  • Kirk improvising a phallus-shaped rock as a weapon is always good for a larf.
  • Lurch-Ruk was a great character, and I loved when Kirk reasoned him in to blurting out "THAT was the equation!"
  • Korby's odd speech was curious, and his and Andrea's deaths seemed kind of forced, but also tragic, and memorable.
  • Sherry Jackson's costume was just... damn!
