I'd bet my ass there are mods to "do this", as in, spawn whatever Pokémon you desire

I used a save editor just to get alakazam. Screw you trade evolution mechanic

trade evolution was a fucking mistake, and so is multiple version releases that arbitrarily split Pokemon availability. Love the series but greedy ass company and practices makes me never want to buy a Pokemon game proper

A lot of Japanese games made for handhelds seem to have features intended for people who live in walkable places with functional public transport. Outside of that context, shit just doesn't work right lol

Streetpass-only features for 3ds were the worst. Even when the yo-kai watch games were more popular, pandanoko was almost impossible to obtain legitimately without living in downtown Tokyo.

It was fun to trade with friends when I was a kid. Was so hype to get a bellsprout

You can hack Pokemon into your games very easily, but a lot of people like to use Pokemon Home to transfer Pokemon from one game to another, so they can continue to play with their favorite starter from another game. Also in competitive, you get disqualified for using hacked pokemon, which is fucking awful policy. There is no difference in gameplay between hacked and legit Pokemon, the only difference is that it can take hours of grinding to make a competitively viable team, as well as requiring three different games and DLC, and hacked pokemon take 5 seconds and are free

My point was you can likely use some mod to clone your existing Pokémon from another game (stats included) into the new one. I also assume that for tournaments they don't let you use emulators
