She already said she's quitting. No actual backbone there.
She's done in the Republican party, and no one else will have her.
So she's trying to position herself for the Republican party after it implodes when Trump dies.
Trump has made sure that he has no political successor.
Leaving the party and quitting your position early doesn't seem like a good way to position yourself in the party...
