What is the lemmy equivalent for discord?
Matrix. Also to a much lesser degree XMPP.

Nothing so far, there is Stoat, Roomy and Root, iirc there are others but I do not recall them atm.
Matrix is probably the closest in terms of being widespread and well supported by client and server implementations, though it's not quite the same. It's a bit finicky in practice too.
read somewhere that Matrix may be compromised. Have you heard of this?
