Last week was my first full week back at work after recovering from this weird cold / flue that's going around.
You know... after almost 30 years working for the same company (in different roles), I'm not sure I want to stay there any more.
No similar jobs nearby - or they're paying 50% less... but... I'm just not feeling like dealing with the daily crap anymore.
It's a bit unsettling...
Damn mate 30 years is a hell of a shift! Would contracting be an option in your line of work?

I've just deleted the "no, that won't work" response I started writing... I still don't think I'd actually do it, but, you've got me thinking about it now.
Triple my income, no office politics, just rake it in until I retire... hmmm...
Well seeing as I gave you the idea, I think it's only fair that I take some commission from your income... let's say.... 50%?
