It would be another instrument but bass ukeleles are really fun. Not the baritones that are just a bit bigger, proper bass ukeleles with the big rubbery strings. They're easy to fret and sound nice.

And they pack a punch when plugged in since they have a built in pickup. Size doesn't matter and you could fit in the mix live with the right gear

They look cool, I’m just not wanting to spend money and won’t be performing (learning may even be a stretch)
