Windows hit its lowest market share in decades, Microsoft lost $400 billion in a week, and now their own president is admitting they need to fix the OS. SteamOS and Linux aren't waiting around.

My switch to Linux has been so easy. I'm not some high end IT guy. If you can install windows from a USB, you can install Linux.

Yeah, it's super simple.

I'm selling a pile of computers I bought off auction. People are choosing Fedora over Windows 60% of the time.

I just installed kubuntu on a couple of 4th gen Microsoft surfaces rather than upgrade to win11. I needed to install a little extra for the touch screen but it was easy to find and easy to do.

Surface 4 sucks on w11. Mint is also a great choice. That's what I'm using on mine at home. My only complaint is hardware, either the battery is finally falling or it has weird parasitic draw.

My battery died years ago so that's no thing for me. It's a bed and shed laptop, I've got mains power in both those places.

Replacing the battery is no joke. I spent a few hours on the task, but I was bouncing between that and several other things.
