It is true. Hispanics like other groups have racism that is ingrained.
Not long ago in Mexico there was only "canal 2) where mostly white people actors became famous and did their thing. But then "once" showed up and it became "TV Azteca" and since then there is more brown people on TV. Nobody noticed because color TV's only stated appearing in the 90's.
It sucks too because there is a lot of reactionary assimilationism in people claiming azteca identity too.
Sorry, I'm not sure I'm following. Reactionaries claim Aztec identity to what end?
Thanks! Why is Dewey an asshole? One of my liberal friends quotes him all the time and holds him in really high regard, so I'm inclined to believe that already. I just hadn't heard this discussed before, either.

I'm not too well informed just what I have heard from some indigenous comrades. If I had to hazard a guess it might be similar to USians claiming indigenous heritage.
