okay I said I'd never go to a protest but I think it'd be really funny to sit outside these with a giant guillotine and a sign labelling it "solution for bad landlords"

Because no protest in the history of protest has achieved anything in the absence of the threat of armed violence and I'm not about to waste my time AND be savaged by the police for literally nothing, and no, "what are you doing then?" isn't a good defense of protesting

The purpose of the protests is to teach people the inefficacy of protests, and to bind them together in a sense of unity against fascism to counteract isolation. Then, to have everyone who is sufficiently agitated and motivated to defend the working class physically in one location where they can self organize and/or be recruited to other activities.
