I am wearing a 34W part of pants. However its stretchy. I want no stretch so I go to the site calculator to figure out what size I am in their idiotic description of what I might be only to be presented with an option to pic the size I want. I'm I stupid? I measure 40.5 to 42.5 on my waist depending on where I measure. So that's 34? Sonobabich! why did the teacher give me so many wrong marks on my math tests then? 30? you mean 45! correct! 76? ahhh 85.1234233432! yes! correct again!

If you're a guy, then the circumference of your waist should be the pants size. From there, the different cuts/styles dictate fit of the rest of your body.

If you're a gal, the numbers mean nothing and it's all a lie. Even within the same brand and style, the clothes will vary in size by color. Try them on.

Lol, no. I comfortably wear size 34s and my waist is 36". I think you'd be hard pressed to find men's jeans that are actually cut to go up to the waist.

There's a reason that when buying a kilt you're told to go up at least 2" from your pants size, because kilts actually use real body measurements.

Even for guys the measurements don't always line up. I've found that some brands are significantly bigger than the number would suggest.

What I find very weird tbh.
When I buy pants, there are essentially two measurements:
In-seam length and waist circumference (and usually the manufacturer shows where to measure it in a picture).

So far I had no issues shopping by pre-measuring before doing the online shopping.

It depends on the manufacturer for me, Old Navy says I'm a 30 waist, which fits. Levi says I'm 34, which also fits. When I measured I'm a 32.

Check this out. I tried all my old ripped 34W garage pants and here's how many more inches I needed to close the button:

Notice how two pants from the same brand, of the same style, non stretchy, are off by 3.5"!

I see the problem...I came into the world fat and ugly. Now I'm all out of butter! And I'm still fat and ugly! LOL. And there's nothing wrong with that except for being out of butter.
