We've been playing this game every two years since at least 2008.
America got lucky, they didn't succeed on jan 6. No good will come from just brushing it off.
Are you kidding? The funniest thing in the world would have been J6ers getting into the Senate and lynching Mike Pence.
FFS, imagine a world in which these goobers had caught up with Henry Cuellar or Bob Menendez or Mike Johnson or Mitt Romney or Chuck Grassley? I argue it would be a fundamentally better place.
And, by the time the dust settled, Biden's incoming administration might have taken the threat of a domestic insurgency a bit more seriously. Perhaps he'd have actually prosecuted the ringleaders of the organization, rather than sending a bunch of middle-management dipshits to iPad Timeout for a couple of years.
Biden wouldn't have had an administration...
Because Mike Pence wasn't around to give him permission?
Was Mike Pence alone in the Senate? Do you believe the insurrectionists would let everybody else go peacefully?
I don't believe the rest of the executive branch bureaucracy would honor the whims of an angry, badly organized mob.
I do think a lot more of them would have been killed when the police retook the building.
It's an insurrection. It doesn't matter, when everybody is killed.
Unless every single MAGA was there, I don't see how that is relevant.
