I thought that the LAPD wasn’t supposed to be assisting ICE? All these LAPD assholes need to be fired. And the ICE agents need to be fired, out of a canon, into the sun.

Most of them are Republicans and likely have side jobs with ICE. They all want their bounties.

LAPD has ALWAYS sucked. That's what the whole OJ trial was about, and nothing has changed since.

It was actually part of why Dragnet was made. The LAPD in the 30s was seen as a gang of corrupt thugs (because it WAS) and they decided to talk up Jack Webb to see about polishing up their reputation via copaganda.

It obviously didn't work.

Now they have The Rookie, pure distilled Conservative Copaganda, making the LAPD look like a competent, caring outfit.

It also comes complete with embedded Amazon advertisements woven INTO the script. That's a new thing on ABC, I've spotted it in an number of shows. A character has to get something quickly, but they are too busy on the case, on a stakeout or something, so they have a bright idea, and say "I'll just order it on Amazon! Hey look! Free shipping!"

That gives them the chance to revisit it later in the plot, when the packages arrive, and they can say"WOW! My packages from Amazon got here FAST! They saved the day! That was so easy!"

Yeah, they're doing that now on ABC.

That's what this shit show is about?
I couldn't understand how it got any screen time at all - and seemingly doesn't want to die

He damaged property. Now, what they should be doing is arresting the driver for an attempted hit and run.
