But aren't there like chinese distros as well? I thought China is also trying to become independent from US tech

The Chinese government wants that yeah, they do have their own distro, but the people just keep using Windows anyways

I was told by a Chinese coworker a few years back that piracy is the biggest factor. There was little enforcement, and everybody runs a cracked version of Windows because it was insanely easy to do.

When picking out Distros first I looked into Deepin a while ago because I found it visually appealing. I obviously didn't pick it but there's also good chinese Distros
