I liked the premise of a time traveler trying to prevent JFKs assassination, and seeing what life might have been like for Lee Oswald. But the ending is predictable, and the science gets handwaved over hard (theres even a meta joke about it), but the story isnt about how tk time travel, but why.
If you liked the premise and even some what enjoyed the mini series then I urge you to read the book as it is better in almost every sense. The series whilst following the story in essence really is a superficial take on what is a very good story IMO and it takes away a lot of the depth and details of the novel and ends in a pretty unsatisfactory manner when compared to the book :)
The first two episodes of that mini series were great and then it nose dived.
Iirc the first few episodes more closely followed the book
