New resident magpie has joined the fray. Either new partner or kid of the existing long time resident.

The old one knows not to come inside. New one just flew straight in and landed a foot away from me lol. Brazen.

It's a male, so probably thinks it can just waltz in and push boundaries. Easiest birds to get out of the house, just don't want it taking a dump inside.

Interestingly when taken (well, walked and it followed) outside, long time resident gave a new call that I've never heard before and pecked it once and walked away lol.

Crazy smart creatures.

Itโ€™s also possible someone else was feeding the new bird, so itโ€™s used to coming inside if they allowed it? Donโ€™t worry, as you said they are smart, it will figure out your house rules pretty quick!
