A character built around the concept of giving every piece of shit exactly what they have coming is giving a piece of shit exactly what they have coming and they can't handle it
Welllll he also considers drug users deserving of being massacred in the streets. The mods are probably upset this is too far left.
The writer basically has final say over which societal ill should be solved with bullets
Unfortunately, this means that (like nearly every comic book character) his politics are inscrutable outside of specific story arc.

The Punisher is a land of contrasts
That is true but it makes the “political appropriation” excuse even more funny. You could make a fan comic about him napalm bombing a furry convention and another about him being the guy who actually shot Charlie Kirk. He’s kinda like cumtown personified.
Cumtown is a podcast about wrapping yourself in books to make makeshift body armor so you can kill an evil high school principal
I don't think there are many, if any, punisher stories with that take.
