By "crime," of course you are referring to people having opinions that differ from the government's. Those not supporting Israel, or god forbid protesting it, an environmentalist, a climate protester. Soon any and all issues, which they will have at their fingertips with every single thing you've said or done or looked at parsed by half baked ai programs like palantir.
Something is wrong with everyone's brain. Seriously I'm not just saying that.
I was mostly thinking of things like county lines gangs who exploit our current fragmented police system to fall between the cracks.
I'm upset by the recent PA arrests but i have some sympathy for the police here. They have been put in this situation by the government proscribing the org and they have to enforce the law. The protesters know this of course - almost any other formulation of the words "action", "support" and "Palestine" would be fine.
Protest was basically illegalized earlier out there if the government is opposed to it I don't know if you missed that bit, it's not just the fake terror label, and it's not just in the UK either, the main targets are the environmental movement in some respects (some us states as well, by different legal means, which are unconstitutional here but our courts are traitors.)
They've charged a bunch of people with serious serious felonies for protesting, prior to any terror designations, and related to climate. Then they forbade the defenses that got a bunch of them acquitted. Separately your starmer just cancelled the magna carta's jury trials for up to 3 years in prison, without a goddamned fight, somehow I'm angrier about this than you guys.
somehow I’m angrier about this than you guys.Perhaps your news sources are giving a slightly biased view of what's going on in the UK?
It's certainly not illegal to protest in the UK - but there have always been public safety concerns. The right to protest doesn't give protesters free reign to cause massive disruption as some of the more controversial tactics of "Extinction Rebellion" had. While Magna Carta was an important document in our history its not an inviolable constitution - for one things most of us are not Baron's. We've always had magistrates and non-jury Judge trails - the current proposals don't abolish them but do change the boundaries of what will automatically be a jury based trial. We shall see if they get through the legislature unopposed.
I guess that's it, you don't even know what is going on. Trusting the wrong people. Taking away the right to protest, jury trials, allowing bad faith terror designations and accusations of supporting them for protesting the same issue without mentioning them, as reported in the guardian podcast.
That you would accept all of that by your own politician you voted for, says it all. You are probably one of the more informed ones too sadly, hopelessly misled by some of the worst people on the planet. 3 years in prison without a fucking jury trial, 1 was unacceptable. Your ancestors would be ashamed.
