I hear people say that's what ICE and Trump want to happen, so they can ramp up the violence even further.

I think Americans should sabotage ICE. They're apparently hiring anyone with a pulse, so why not apply and be an absolutely useless agent? Waste their fucking budget, guys. But I'm commenting from the safety of not-USA so grain of salt and all that.

On the one hand, sure, it would give the administration an "excuse" to escalate still further.

On the other hand, who are we kidding? They're not going to stop escalating no matter what. There's no point in trying to appease fascists. They'll take whatever excuse, no matter how flimsy, whenever they feel like it regardless. That's how we got here.

When can the military steps in to defend us from threats - mainly domestic- namely being Trump's absolute abuse of power?!

I think property damage and sabotage of equipment is valid.

However, with how their propaganda is, they equate property damage with violence.

And I think we, as a country, need to realign our views on that. Property damage is not violence. Violence is harm to an individual. To a person. Not economic damage, but actual physical health damage.

They will respond with violence to property damage. And that needs to be fought.

So if their cars have tires slashed, windshields broken, it's not violence.

If they are blocked on the street and can't drive down it. It's not violence.

Tear gas and "less-than-lethals" are violence.

They have been violent to us, the people. Exclusively.

that's what ICE and Trump want to happen

Yeah. It's the same playbook used to great effect in a certain Middle-Eastern conflict.

As for the "accidental" sabotage, I can't imagine they'd be very ... charitable ... to that sort of agent, especially if there's the vaguest whiff that they might be doing so on purpose. Stomp stomp stomp, etc.

There are fates worse than death. Civil disobedience and nuisance is the only way. Make them absolutely loathe every moment they're on duty so they don't want to go back to work.

Half the job at ICE is to stand around as a deterrent. It's hard to sabotage "go here and exist".

I made a joke recently that if I were desperate for a job I’d get hired as ICE and quit right after training. But then I realized I might spend more time filling out some of the application, failing the drug test, and attending a 6-minute long interview than I would spend in training before they tried to make me do evil shit. I’d have to quit before I got my ROI.
