The difference between dealing with China and dealing with Trump is that they keep their side of bargains.

Not just that, but China acts in a rational and predictable way. You might not agree with them, but at least you can understand why they're doing something which makes it possible to find some common ground around common interests. Dealing with the US is like trying to make a deal with a killer clown and then hoping he doesn't murder you in your sleep.
