That's certainly more complicated than just using UBO...
Cant do that on devices that arent running browsers, or browsers capable of extensions/add-ons. Like games consoles…my xbox would be the only device on my network relying on a VPN for this and other things that my pi-hole cant block.
Skill issue
For devices that can run Android apps, there's SmartTube, free open source Youtube app that has no ads
Some people still use Apple products.
And that is the first mistake.
Safari has adblockers, at least it’s not Chromium based.
And on iOS, those adblockers suck even more so than on chromium with manifest v3. I was surprised browsers could be worse, but here we are.
Which all have browsers just like windows and android does.... with addon support in some. You're clearly in the completely ignorant "just hate apple but base it on nothing" crowd.
Sideloading on an iphone or apple tv is very easy

N/A for Apple TV?

My iphone has brave
Works just fine IMO
their fault
I see others still haven’t learned that brave on iOS blocks YouTube ads….
Don’t support Brave.
While you're at it, dont support Apple or advertisers.
The alternative is supporting Google which is far far worse.
Or buy a refurbished Pixel and install Graphene.
Still supports Google. They will produce more because people are trading in their old ones. Unless Google completely stops producing pixels, any demand for refurbished ones still shows up as demand for pixels from their sales metrics.
So which browser should those who are unfortunate enough to use iOS use?
I mean i just use safari. It has a bunch of extensions, it blocks ads and tracking. You can add adguard to it if you want. You can get dark mode. Sometimes I use Firefox too but Safari really handles a lot. If you’re really up for trying privacy respecting browsers, Orion is great. Built by the Kagi developers so you know they care about your privacy. I stopped using it because it didn’t have dark mode last year but that might have gotten added by now.
Orion (by the same guys who made Kagi) has Ad-Blockers built in. It can take both Firefox and Chrome extensions as well.
It's not open source so nah
We're talking about apple users. Open source is already a lost cause.
Lol by solely using it to bypass ads on YouTube you’re not supporting them, they don’t get anything from except view history which they can’t do shit if you otherwise don’t use brave
By telling other people to use brave you are supporting them. That’s literally the definition.
Fair enough. But I need some way of watching YouTube without ads and PiP on my phone, and fuck am I paying google. If you or anyone have any alternatives I’m open.
Orion browser was just mentioned here...
Thanks, just tested it and it also works for Picture in Picture, I’ll ditch brave now for good 🚮
You can install an adblocker in safari, not sure if it will block YouTube ads though.
