The American Prospect reported that several Democrats in closely contested districts would be voting for the ICE appropriation. “They’re terrified of being labeled anti–law enforcement,” an unnamed source told the liberal magazine. “They want this to go away so they can talk about the cost of living more. Problem is, it’s not going away.”

I get that, for some baffling reason, you're defending Democrats, but their other option is to reject funding and cause another government shutdown. That could be combined with the current general strike (by extending it past the Jan 30 deadline to get the government funded) to bring the whole country to a complete halt unless ICE gets the fuck out, Trump and Noem impeached / locked up, or whatever other demands the people have of their government. This would be a fantastic use of political power to enable democratic expression and improve the lives of millions of people! That being said, there's no way the Democrats will do that. Instead, they support the Republican efforts.

Did you do that math on 435/2 + X Dems = bill passes? What is the magic number of Democrats that are needed for a bill to pass?

Also, what general strike? You can declare one all day long, but if the general public doesn't even know about it, it ain't that general.
