Yea I get your point, it's a fine point even. Most people are fine with Spotify and they are quite successful. One person's opinion isn't important and yes there is an echo chamber here. I just think you could have done it without calling people morons and commenting "nobody cares". There are ethical problems with Spotify, and I get why someone would say fuck em. Just an opinion, not a call to arms. https://youtu.be/MXudOLStaXA

You're probably right, I'm just annoyed as fuck at how pointlessly cynical Lemmy is. If you see the amount I post on this community (which is a lot because I'm an enthusiast and want to keep this place lively) there's a decent amount of comments like that that pop up over and over when all I'm doing is just basically posting news.

Yea I guess in general we need to pick our battles better. There's nothing wrong with people pointing out problematic companies but if that's the only kind of engagement you're getting for tech news that's not really helpful. In general I think this would be a lot less echo chambery if the barrier for sign up was lower. We need more diversity of users.

Anyways, I was expecting a very different kind of response from you and was pleasantly surprised by how civil it was. Sorry for calling you a dick.
