She looks dead inside in the first photo.
Honestly it just looks like every photo from the early 2010s. Digital cameras weren't really very good but we use them anyway and as a result all photos are blurry and soft. It makes everyone look miserable.
To me it looks like the same look in the eyes, just different directions
