I'm guessing now would be a good time for me to sell my old PC from 2020?
3900X, 2080 Super, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB Samsung 970 M.2 storage. What would y'all pay for this right now? ๐
I have a similar system I just retired(r7 3800x, 32gb, .5tb m.2+2tb m.2+4tb ssd, 4070ti super with a spare 2070 super), still works very well. Going to clean and put it back in its box til my new one becomes unusable, don't think I'll be buying another pc and I will NEVER use cloud gaming, no one should reward these ghouls for fucking us over especially Nvidia. Once all my old pcs stop working, if I am not dead yet, I will do like my childhood and read physical books and spend time out doors
ngl we should probably be doing that even if gaming PCs become super cheap ๐ but gaming is too much fun dangit
Initially I was gonna sell it to someone that needed it, but when I got my new one I could see it was the last one I'd be able to afford unless something drastic happens in our favour. I am too old and cynical to think otherwise
Username checks out
2000k
Oh shit, aight. That would return me about 80% of what I paid for it, and net me about $8/month if you treat it as a subscription over how long I've had it.
You... Bought your old PC for almost 2 million dollars?
What kind of math are you smoking.
No, about $2,500. How did you get to 2 million dollars?
Am I the one who can't math? Stop making me second-guess myself! Unless I'm wrong, then do. But am I?! Ahh!
2000k = 2,000,000
I assumed they meant $2000. Or were they trolling?
I was just being pedantic, and tried being funny when you said you paid about 80% of 2000k.
Sadly, I still lack the ability to read minds of other Lemmy posters. I was just explaining where the smoking math came from.
We shall never know. Unless they reply.
