Democrats nominated Kamala Harris. There's a reason she had to drop out of the primaries in 2020 before a single vote was cast. She was quite literally the worst option out of every Democrat option.

Stop parroting that lame Democratic excuse that the 2024 race was Fair & Square.

Trump has cheated at literally everything he's done in his entire life. It's why he's so profoundly ignorant - he paid or bullied other kids to do every bit of his homework, and learning absolutely nothing.

So we're supposed to believe that the one race that could keep him out of a lifetime prison sentence, was the one race he DIDN'T cheat in? Even when he had the open support and commitment from two foreign Oligarchs with massive hacking networks, and unlimited resources?

It's bad enough that MAGAs think we're that stupid, but it is absolutely INSULTING that the Dems believe we're that stupid. We should be infuriated at their lame excuse, invented to let them off the hook for their cowardice, weakness, and fecklessness.

So what would you like me to think of you if you think the person who couldn't get any support in 2020, who didn't participate in a 2024 primary, was suddenly nominated as a candidate for the general election is what was supposed to be a democracy?

So what? It wasn't the ideal situation, but we were faced with a bit of an emergency when it became clear that Biden wasn't up to the job. It wasn't like she was chosen randomly, she was the VP, so she had already been part of the 2020 winning team, so she was next in line, and the logical choice.

The idea that somehow she was an illegitimate candidate, making the biggest traitor in American history the ONLY possible choice, is STUPID.

She was the VP from 2020-2024, and even then, VP is not an elected position, and she dropped out in 2020 cause nobody supported her.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

The VP absolutely is an elected position, and is usually responsible for a significant portion of the President's votes.

They normally choose a VP candidate based on how many votes they will bring, and Kamala was chosen because she could deliver the black vote to an otherwise lily-white campaign, and that black vote was an important factor in Biden's win. There is no denying this.

[–] DaMummy@hilariouschaos.com 1 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Yes, there is. Black people hated Kamala only slightly less than Buttigieg(or however you spell his name), and Biden was already liked by older black people, though I've no idea why.

Hard to have a discussion with someone who makes up the facts.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Far from the worst. Steyer and Bloomberg were absolutely worse candidates, they just had the funds to stay solvent for long enough for American Democrats to tell them so.

[–] Bullerfar@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Maybe, but Any Sane person on the planet could see Trump was far worse

[–] DaMummy@hilariouschaos.com 1 points 1 day ago

No argument there, but any sane person should also see that genocide-lite is not a winning message.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

trump is far worst, plus there were other issues that were playing against her, israeli and russian propaganda, musk rigging the machines, states choosing to end COUNTING early to make trump win.
