Pulled these today. Only got through peeling half of the gandule pods. I'll be handing out starfruit to the neighbors.

Well. This is south Florida.... I've had gandule trees since I married my Puerto Rican wife. They grow like weeds here.....super easy. Gandules are beans from the pods you see in the bag. Arroz con gandules is a beloved Puerto Rican dish.

The starfruit is also super easy to grow here. Matches the PR island climate.

Getting a harvest from these 2 down here almost feels like cheating its so easy.

Funny thing is I also live in South Florida., just north of Homestead-Fl. City, next to Everglades.

All you said is right, but unfortunately, they are not indigenous.
