I appreciate that he stitched himself a pocket specifically to hold the CD player

Yet somehow still put it on over the hoodie ❓

Cloak with a hoodie on top? (no... not really 🤪)

For a second I thought he was killing industries.

Damn, I can't fight that logic ❗

From a practical standpoint, he needs access to the controls

It looked to me like a walkman from the 90s, where the controls are those five purple buttons between the skull looking case above them and the cord and batteries below, in the sixth panel.

But maybe in Hades' underworld the headphones have been somehow upgraded to more modern tech? 🎧

If so, I would have expected bone conduction - c'mon!!?

Inline controls were a thing but i can't see any here. I'd assume the circular part (both the skull and the buttons) are the CD unit, and it's circular because the CD goes inside and takes up the full size. It's as small as it can be while still fitting a CD.

So the controls are on the unit itself, which is in his pocket.

Perhaps for a skeleton creature, the robe functions as his skin? :-P

I'm enjoying imagining bone conduction turning the ferryman into a walking boombox.

Omg I can just picture that... maybe if you know a comic artist personally you can slip them that idea, no attribution necessary, although in the meantime we will have to simply use our imaginations! 💀🎧🤪
