It looked to me like a walkman from the 90s, where the controls are those five purple buttons between the skull looking case above them and the cord and batteries below, in the sixth panel.

But maybe in Hades' underworld the headphones have been somehow upgraded to more modern tech? ๐ŸŽง

If so, I would have expected bone conduction - c'mon!!?

Omg I can just picture that... maybe if you know a comic artist personally you can slip them that idea, no attribution necessary, although in the meantime we will have to simply use our imaginations! ๐Ÿ’€๐ŸŽง๐Ÿคช

Inline controls were a thing but i can't see any here. I'd assume the circular part (both the skull and the buttons) are the CD unit, and it's circular because the CD goes inside and takes up the full size. It's as small as it can be while still fitting a CD.

So the controls are on the unit itself, which is in his pocket.

Perhaps for a skeleton creature, the robe functions as his skin? :-P
