Jelly is awful. Jam or preserves or just sliced fruit is far better. Jelly is artificial bullshit, and you can tell it I said so.

Wait I assumed what Americans call jelly IS jam? Wtf is jelly if that's not the case?

In the US, jelly is pectin-thickened juice but jam leaves the fruit puree in it.

Edit: Jelly is also a thicker gel texture, and jam is still quite loose.
