Politics aside, does anyone know this group's relationship with the actual historical Panthers? My understanding was that the original Panthers were dissolved at some point?

I don't think this calls their legitimacy/validity into question, I'm mostly just curious.

There are a number of modern panthers orgs that claim to represent a continuation of the historic panthers. Though they range from actual Maoist Communists to weird Black Israelite types
