Minnesotans are badass. Check history. They're notable for not giving back the 28th Virginia battle flag from the civil war. Virginia has repeatedly asked for it back and Minnesota has had a stance of "fuck you, it ours." For more than a century. There's a reason the Minnesota NFL team is named the Vikings. They've been settled by the Norse. They're the nicest people on earth until you fuck with them. And once they win, that's it.

If you suddenly respect Minnesota, it's because you didn't know that you should've always respected Minnesota. Same goes for the Canadians. Those respectful, calm motherfuckers are the reason half of the Geneva convention war crimes exist. They'll invent new ones, and make the rest of the world go "Jesus Christ, that's fucked up!"

Edit: but generally, they're the nicest people on earth. Went to a Broncos/Vikings game in Minnesota, and they lost. They were the nicest people on earth, both before and after the game. I really can't say enough about them as a people being good and friendly. It was a shocking experience compared to Kansas City or Oakland. Honestly the raiders fans have been much better in Vegas where most of the "fans" are travelers.
