Did Gyllenhall have some similar political sentiment or is your opinion just based on his past performances? I recognize him when I see him but don't really see him as a reason to be excited/turned off for a movie.

No, I just never saw him as the sort of actor that demanded much notice. He does fine work, but isn't remarkable IMO, not like Ruffalo is.

I saw Gyllenhall in a limited Broadway run of Sunday in the Park with George, and he was amazing. He would have easily won the Tony that year, but the production took itself out of contention.

I've been a big fan ever since. I'll go see anything he does.
