What do you think of an option to ban politics from the feed on account registration like this:

Effectively, when you click "no politics", it should block the !news@lemmy.world, !politics@lemmy.world, !politicalmemes@lemmy.world, !pravda_news@news.abolish.capital communities and such for the newly registered user.

It would help clear up the feed and be more attractive to new users. Maybe this could even be the default view when you're not logged in.

what i don't get is how this would be beneficial.. politics is like half of the things we discuss here in both lib and left spaces? Also being the default view is going to suck if you want to browse Lemmy without an account. You can always block politics with Lemmy's community and instance account blocking feature, which should be taught anyway so you can pick and choose what exactly should go.

I was going to comment it in the original post, but I didn't think about it much until now..
